3M Perfect-It Foam Compounding Pads are 3M's highest-performing foam compounding pads for refining sand scratches, slow-speed polishing, denibbing and more. Foam face pattern provides more surface contact, holds compound better and reduces slinging. Doubled-sided pads work with 3M Quick Connect Adaptors on rotary polishers; single-side pads work with the Hookit system for easy change-outs.

For the highest performance at every step during compounding, 3M’s Perfect-It Foam Compounding Pads combine features that save time and improve results. Pad face patterns are designed into the foam to hold more compound and limit slinging, as well as provide more contact with the surface for maximum efficiency. Double- and single-sided constructions work with the Quick Connect and Hookit attachment systems to save time and preserve pad life.

Choose from a variety of pads for specific applications including working with cured, hard or medium finish paint, denibbing, scratch removal and refining P1200 or finer sand scratches even in confined spaces. 3M developed these foam pads as part of 3m’s Perfect-It Colour Coded Paint Finishing System to keep pace with evolving paint and clear coat technologies. Foam pads are generally less aggressive and produce a finer finish than wool pads, ideal for the critical compounding stages of paint refinishing. They can normally operate at higher RPMs, relying on a combination of cutting and heat buildup to slightly melt the surface coating and remove fine scratches and swirl marks.

The double-sided 3M Perfect-It Foam Compounding Pads feature a center plate for added durability, and work with 3M’s Quick Connect polisher adaptor. The metal adapter has 5/8-inch threads, making it easy for operators to quickly lock and center the compounding pads to a large range of standard rotary polishers. They can detach them just as quickly, which makes changing pads easy and fast and saves time. The Hookit hook-and-loop feature makes attachment, removal, and re-attachment of single-sided 3M Perfect-It Foam Compounding Pads clean, easy and very fast for maximised shop time.

Hookit pads have J-shaped hooks of the type most commonly used in everyday hook-and-loop applications. Hookit disc back-up pads grip the brushed nylon loop backings of 3M Perfect-It Foam Compounding Pads and keep them firmly attached even during aggressive use. Yet the pads also remove very quickly, saving time during multi-step compounding jobs. 3M Perfect-It Foam Compounding Pads are the highest-performing double- and single-sided foam compounding pads we offer.
